APM Terminals has launched new photovoltaic installations at its Algeciras terminal as part of its annual «Go Green» initiative, which aligns with World Environment Day and World Oceans Day. The solar panels, covering 7,678 square meters, generate enough energy to power nine STS cranes and the equivalent of 800 households annually. Similar efforts are underway in Valencia and Barcelona, where terminals are also transitioning to renewable energy sources. All electricity used by APM Terminals in Spain now comes from green energy.

The «Go Green» campaign also included educational and environmental awareness activities across terminals in Algeciras, Valencia, Barcelona, and Gijón. These ranged from waste management workshops and biodiversity games to climate change talks and emergency drills. The initiative reflects APM Terminals’ commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency, and reducing its environmental footprint across its operations.
