About Us

The Mediterranean Green Shipping Observatory is a central platform for monitoring and assessing green shipping technologies, alternative fuels, and best practices with specific relevance to the Mediterranean region. The Observatory will leverage data collection, dashboards to show trends, evolution of key indicators and benchmarking tools to support accurate decision making for policymakers and industry stakeholders.

The Mediterranean Green Shipping Observatory is a result of the GREEN MARINE MED project. This project has received funding from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund under the EMFAF-2023-PIA-FLAGSHIP Call – Agreement No.: 101124818.

The Mediterranean Green Shipping Observatory will be hosted and managed by the Mediterranean Centre of Excellence on Green Shipping (CoE). The CoE will guarantee the resources for the Observatory and the engagement of the stakeholders.

The Observatory will be managed by a CoE secretariat responsible for the maintenance of the platform, data collection, report publication, stakeholder coordination, communication activities, strategic direction and the alignment with regional sustainability goals as well as facilitating high-level partnerships.

Since the CoE is a multi-stakeholder platform, integrating policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers of all over the Mediterranean with an Advisory Board, regional hubs and working groups the multidisciplinary and geographic coverage is granted.
