What’s the purpose of the Green Marine Med Observatory?
The Mediterranean Green Shipping Observatory identifies early warnings about opportunities, risks, and state-of-the-art updates.
- Monitoring new developments (green fuel such as methanol, hydrogen, and alternative technologies, including electrification)
- Monitoring of the most advanced practices (technological, infrastructural, managerial, etc.)
- Building Knowledge capabilities

Does the Observatory carry out activities?
Not directly; the Observatory is part of the Centre of Excellence in Green Shipping, the organization that brings together Green Shipping stakeholders, and the Observatory related activities and many others will be carried out through the Centre of Excellence.
