PSA Antwerp has joined the Zero Emission Port Alliance (ZEPA), a global initiative aimed at accelerating the decarbonisation of ports through collaboration among terminal operators, manufacturers, and other stakeholders. This move aligns with PSA’s broader climate goals to cut carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 and reach net-zero by 2050.
As part of its strategy, PSA Antwerp is rolling out fully electric straddle carriers under its Green Straddle Carrier Program and plans to install shore power infrastructure at its Europa Terminal by 2026. This upgrade is expected to reduce over 10,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, marking a significant step toward greener port operations.
